Zoo Keepers Kate, Marylou and Christa hosted the Ruritan Zoo at the Lovettsville Community Center Trunk or Treat. It was fun to see all the Princesses, Wizards and Ghosts visit the zoo and get some candy. This was our first year and we can’t wait to do it again next year.
Road Side Cleanup
The Lovettsville-Waterford Ruritan Club gathered in Waterford for some community service. This is one of the fun projects we do throughout the year. The club is responsible for 2 miles of roadway and we pick up twice a year. Road cleanup is a nice way to catch up with club members, get some light exercise, gain some good vibes from the community and of course, enjoy some DONUTS!

July Picnic
We had a great time at our summer picnic with food provided by Monks BBQ. We were joined by special guest Gwyneth, one of four Woodgrove Seniors that were awarded Scholarships from the Lovettsville-Waterford Ruritan Club. It was nice to have her visit and tell us about her future plans. Good Luck Gwyneth!
May 2022 Monthly Meeting
Everyone had a great night as the Lovettsville-Waterford Ruritans got together for our monthly dinner meeting at Flying Ace Brewery. Wendy Dalton, the sponsorship chair with the Lovettsville Dolphins, came to update the club on the Lovettsville swim team. The team has been a member of the Old Dominion Swim League since 2004 and the Ruritans have always been a supporter of the team. The Dolphins are more than a swim team to Lovettsville and Waterford, as life long friendships and sportsmanship develop amongst the swimmers.
Becky Lane, our Ruritan District National Director, and Rappahanock District Governor Graham Overman also joined our monthly meeting to update the club on the latest developments at the national level. Ruritan National wants to increase membership across all levels and several suggestions on how to grow locally were discussed. If you are interested in learning more about what Ruritans do and how to become a member, join us for dinner at the monthly meeting . We meet every 3rd Thursday of the month upstairs at Flying Ace Brewery. Contact us at [email protected] and let us know you want to come.
